The Mind of Luke Budreau

What does Luke think about....why don't you see for yourself!

God Didn’t Make Us to Worry

It’s true, we weren’t created to stress and fret over anything. So why is it so easy to over analyze, and worry about every little detail in life? We worry about money, we were about grades, we worry about if people like us, or if we’re important, and sometimes we worry about worrying. When does it stop? It stops here.

Matthew 6:34 says this “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of it’s own.”

I have such a problem with worry and stress. I need to learn to worry less and trust God more. He has my back and He will do what’s best for me! So I don’t need to worry about anything. I need to obey his command and I need to constantly be in conversation with Him (prayer) and most importantly I need to be in His word…ALL THE TIME.

My prayer for myself and for everyone is that we can have a genuine relationship with God and seriously for real trust him with everything.

God I’m letting go of my worries, because in you I have never ending peace.

If you have a group of twelve kids who don’t understand your illustrations and one of them wants to kill you, you have a youth group just like Jesus.

Reach for the Stars

One education expert said: “Our current ceiling for students is really much closer to where the floor ought to be.”

We live in a society where young people are expected to do nothing, because we are capable of nothing. A society that doesn’t expect us to understand what they tell us. And even if we understand they don’t expect us to care. And even if we care they don’t expect us to do anything about it. And even if we do something about it, they don’t expect it to last.

Why are we told to reach for the stars if the world doesn’t even expect us to get off the ground?

Never give in — never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy!

—Winston Churchill (1874-1965)

On Fire

Man, I was excited to come to camp this summer to work as a counselor, but once I got here I didn’t quite like what I was part of. It didn’t feel like I fit in, and it felt like I didn’t belong, but after the first week when the kids got here all those feelings left. Now I know I belong, and I feel like this is exactly where God wants me. I’m loving camp so much and I feel it is a place where lives can be changed, and not just for the kids but for the staff and counselors too.

So I’ll be praying for God to make a difference, in me, in the kids, and in everyone around me. I pray that God uses me to positively affect peoples lives.

I focus my energy on my true intentions. I will not be distracted by noise, chatter, or setbacks. Patience, commitment, grace, and purpose will guide me.

“Clean” Up Your Act

I was on Facebook earlier and I saw a link to a page that said the end of the world was in 12 days. Now I find that a little hard to believe and didn’t give it much attention, but it did make me think. If the end of the world was in 12 days, what would I do?

Well I thought back to a few days ago when I overheard somebody saying they were going in to the doctor for a annual check-up and they said they were getting ready by eating really healthy for a week or two before they went, and then after that they would eat whatever they wanted. This reminds me of hearing of people, and also doing myself things like: brushing your teeth extra before going to the dentist, eating healthy before a check up, asking classmates what the book was about for the test tomorrow, and other last minute things like this. It seems like we pay no attention to the fact that we know the even is coming until it finally gets here. It seems moments before it happens we, “clean” up our act so that we appear that we have been doing great and we try to hide our bad habits and our negligence.

So to get back to the end of the world question, what would I do if the end of the world was in 12 days? Well I guess just like these prior examples I would “clean” up my act. I would actually read my bible everyday instead of pretending I did and telling my pastor I did, I would pray regularly, and I would actually live my life like the on fire Christian I’m supposed to be instead of the luke-warm one I’ve been. The truth of the matter is we don’t know when Jesus is coming back, it could be in 12 days, it could be in 12 years and it could even be tomorrow!

So then what is stopping us from living like it’s tomorrow? Why can’t we realize that Jesus is the doctor, or the dentist, and our appointment could be tomorrow!? And He could call on us at anytime to answer for how we’ve been acting our whole lives, and He WILL judge us even if we’re not ready and we haven’t had time to “clean” up our act.

So I ask you are you planning to just wait until it happens to “clean” up your act? Because let me tell you, it’ll be too late! We need to live like Jesus is coming back tomorrow everyday of our lives, we need to be on fire for Him, living like Him, we need to be examples to others and we need to be sharing Christ with others. We need to be supporting and building up fellow believers, and we cannot be closet Christians! We need to live out our Faith, and when people look at us they shouldn’t see Luke Budreau, they shouldn’t see John Doe, or Mary Brown, or whoever it is that you are. When they look at you they should see Jesus, and they should be saying, I want that, I need Him! I want Him to be my Savior. And it is our jobs to share Him with the world!

So don’t just “clean” up your act at the last minute, live out your Faith everyday! Jesus is alive in each and everyone of your hearts, so let Him shine through you!

The Sound of Love

If you listen closely you can hear the sobs of sorrow,

Because in life sadness is expected in every tomorrow.

But wait another sound, it’s the emphatic shout of joy,

That bouncing, booming feeling in every girl and boy.

If you strain your ear you can hear the whisper of trust,

It’s presence in every relationship is essential and a must.

Shh but wait another sound is near,

oh no it is the crying out of fear.

As it shudders, shakes and trembles

the air stands crisp and clear.

But as the fear fades away there is nothing left but pure love,

As the clouds flee and the sun comes on the wings of a dove.

Can you hear the love, as it kisses your cheek as a warm breeze,

As it whistles through the tree, and brings sinners to their knees.

Can you hear the love that saved the lost like you and like me,

It brings the world together, across the rivers and the sea.

It makes the strong to cry, and the weak to feel empowered,

Because when true love rings out then fear will be devoured.

I know true love and I have heard it’s passionate cry,

It gives me a happiness and joy that money can not buy.

So I ask you today have you heard the sound of love in your life?

It could be the whisper of a lover or a kiss between man and wife.

Enjoy the sounds of life’s emotions they comfort and ensure,

A world of joy and happiness and a life that’s simple and pure.
